Erin Hunt

Erin Hunt is a Canadian artist currently living and working on Fogo Island. Her paintings are a material exploration of picture-making engaging in conversation between found ephemera and abstract mark-making.

The work speaks to an interest in the formation of identity, specifically the psychological, mythological and material aspects within the process of painting. The abstract means of finding the painting through specific imagery, reflect on ideas of mothering, healing, nature and impermanence.

Erin Hunt’s paintings have been exhibited in Canada and internationally and have been acquired by private and public collections including the City of Ottawa. In 2021 Erin was the recipient of a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts.
